Jaguar’s highly anticipated Type 00 prototype made a surprise appearance on the streets of Paris, showcasing a new color and autonomous driving capabilities for the first time. Jaguar’s Managing Director, Rawdon Glover, revealed new insights into the brand’s upcoming four-door all-electric GT, set for launch in late 2025.
The two-door concept was spotted in a striking “French Ultramarine” finish, retaining its previous silver-trimmed body and signature wheels. The design remains as controversial as ever.
Captured in video clips, the Type 00 was carefully driven through public streets before stopping outside Paris Fashion Week. In a cinematic moment, its butterfly doors slowly lifted, revealing Irish actor Barry Keoghan stepping out and grabbing his jacket from the futuristic trunk.
Keoghan’s presence amplified media attention, as he later posed in the driver’s seat, highlighting the sleek two-seat interior. The unveiling took place on March 9. Just days earlier, Rawdon Glover shared key details about Jaguar’s reinvention, confirming that the production GT will closely follow the Type 00’s design.
The four-door electric GT is expected to maintain its bold styling, featuring a long hood, slim LED headlights, and a sleek roofline. Spy shots suggest a driver-focused cockpit with an emphasis on “design, craftsmanship, and engineering” rather than excessive technology—a strategic move to differentiate Jaguar from Chinese competitors.
Built on Jaguar’s exclusive new EV platform, the GT will share electric motors and battery tech with Jaguar Land Rover models but will feature a unique design. The top-tier variant is targeting a 692 km range and 956 hp output.
Jaguar’s CEO personally tested a prototype, pushing it to 258 km/h at the brand’s test facility in Gaydon, describing it as an exhilarating drive. Following the GT’s late 2025 debut, Jaguar plans to expand its lineup with a luxury sedan and an SUV.
