China’s automotive market continues its rapid expansion, with projections indicating a 2% increase in domestic car sales, reaching 23.4 million units by 2025.
New energy vehicles (NEVs) are driving this growth, with expectations of a 20% surge in sales, totaling 13.3 million units this year. The demand for electric and hybrid vehicles remains strong, reinforcing China’s position as the world’s largest market for sustainable mobility.
Passenger car production saw significant growth in January 2024, reaching 2.11 million units—up 3.6% from the previous year. NEV production jumped 25.8%, with sales rising by 10.5%, highlighting the shift toward cleaner transportation.
By December 2024, Chinese car brands accounted for a record-breaking 41% of global vehicle sales, showcasing their ability to meet diverse customer needs worldwide. As demand continues to rise, Chinese automakers are set to further strengthen their presence in the global market.
